Riding Since: 1977
First Skateboard: Grentec Coyote. I did lay down speed on it down hills with my buddy Paul Price, because we couldnıt stand up on them and it was less far to fall... Had to stop using it because one day the back wheels melted on to my jeans!

AND- Going with the same bunch to the European Champs in Paris in 1980 and Tarby, Sweden in 1987, both unforgettable!
Recent- Standing at La Costa racing with my teenage heroes Hester, Skoldberg, Olson, Hackett, Peters. Then someone taps me on the shoulder and asks if I am Martin Drayton. I turn around and it is Bobby Turner I was speechless!

Occupation: Impostor
Skating Highlights: Winning the 2004 World Slalom Championship
(Hybrid) in Morro Bay. Winning at Luna and the Farm a few years
back when I didn't expect to skate cause of ACL surgery. Podiums
in Paris. Getting a second chance at the sport of my youth. Back
in the 70's I rode for Sims, Madrid, and a bunch of little surf
shop teams. Competed in California and Colorado. I won the Capitola
Classic Am Division in 79'. Raced old school downhill with Hickey
and Hutson around that time. In 1984 Jack Smith, Paul Dunn, Bob
Denike, and I skated from Oregon to Virginia to raise money for
Multiple Sclerosis. That ride was a world record for 20 years (Jack
set the new record in 2003). But I think 2006 is going to have the
best highlights!
